I ordered porkchops with yellow rice mac and cheese and green beans. The food was very flavorful. I also really enioyed the lavendar tea. My cousin had the barbecue chicken with sauce and mac and cheese, and cabbage and she really enjoyed it. We both have leftovers for dinner. Customer service was on point. We will definitely come back.

Me and my roommate was looking for some good soul food and was looking for powells soul food but we couldn't find it no phone number or anything so we went again and we found this place ...Not Your Mammy soul food... I must say it was the best food I.. I was craving pork so I had the pig feet smothered pork chop collard greens macaroni and cheese yams banana pudding and pound cake.. when I tell you the food was so good I ate the pig feet before I left the parking lot.. it was so seasoned and flavorable oh my God when I tell you my hands was not sticky at all that mean it was cooked right The flavor was so good oh it just make you want to slap your mama but I will never do that The lady that helped us I praise you the owner because I live on the other side of town and I will come back and I suggest eating everybody that wants a good own cooking to stop by and try them out wonderful customer service skills wonderful food it was money world worth spending keep up the good work keep up the good cooking God bless you guys stay in business and you can cook like that you will be and the name of Jesus. One word for this place - “TENDERNISM” The price is very reasonable for the amount of food you get, you can feed at least 2 people from one plate. Everything was good and the oxtails were falling off the bone.

Oxtail was well seasoned and tender, greens were clean and tender, but not overcooked, mac and cheese was nice and cheesy, cornbread is smooth, rice was right on. Found a new place to fulfill my soul food fix. Good job.

Picked up 2 plates for an early dinner. We got the fried chicken wings, mac n cheese, green beans, yellow rice, turkey wing, collard greens and corn bread. Everything was great but the corn bread was EXCELLENT! Seeing all of these reviews and different options, we will definitely be back to try everything! Service 10/10!
